With 5 months left of HIGH SCHOOLLLL it seems like the first half of the year happened a long time ago and the realities of life are starting to set in.
It seems as though goals change as the year goes on. At the begining of the year our main focus was filling out applications, getting the perfect schedule, and it felt as if college was far, far away. Now that its 2009 priorities are on having fun, making memories, and letting loose on the whole college idea. If we get accepted then we get accepted but its no worth the stress.
Now is the time to think about the funnest parts of senior life. Senior prank, senior hoodies, senior skip day, and prom. The senior prank the past couple years of classes havent been that creative when it came down to this tradition. "We should do something thats not stupid. Something more creative than the average outside decorations," senior Lija Zurovskis. Visual artist Tom Sipples, "I want something creative, but not stupid. Underwear and toilet paper in the trees is stupid." Right now there are no exact plans but I'm sure that when the time comes our prank will blow other years out of the water.
This year there was controversy over the senior hoodies. The design was "voted on" but the general response was LAAAAAAME. Now we have other ideas details are being worked out.
Senior skip day is usually the norm beach/park cookout day. When it comes to 2009 WE'RE NOT HAVING THAT! "umm...blowing back the piff. To tell you the truth I'm not gonna drink that much," says one annoynomous senior. When asked what she wanted to do for skip day Ariel Bernard said, "I dont know. Just food"
Prom is the main focus of the average kid as the end of the year comes. Deciding colors, dates, befores and afters, are a few of the many things that go into an enjoyable prom night. Another issue that occurs is $$$$$. Because its so close to college for seniors, they want to save some oney but still put out enough to make their senior prom memorable. When asked how to feel about it Julissa said, "Girl listnen. I have prom, graduation, and a wedding to pay for! I'm saving now and whatever comes thats important at the time thats what my money is going towards. On the other hand it has made me double think on the dress i really want, shoes and all that comes with it my price range has dropped."
As the second half of our senior year fastly approaches there is alot more to look forward to and alot more to get ready for. So i hope you seniors are ready for the challenges, get ready bbeeeyyyooottccheheesss!!!! 09!!!!!
